Cokin filter vignette problem

To fix vignetting when using cokin holder, buy a spare cokin filter holder (or a cheap copy off ebay) and saw the filter holder off after the 1st slot using a small hacksaw.

Ive just done this and now I can use my cokin circ pol and 1 more cokin filter (ND or ND grad) at 17 mm on my 5d without any vignetting. And I haven’t needed to remove my protective slim UV filter.

Great. no more trying to hold filters and keep my fingers out of frame.

Hey there, saw your posting about sawing off your Cokin filter holder. I’m not sure which size you are using, but I’m assuming you bought the ZPro size.

If this is the case, you don’t need to saw off your holder, the Cokin filter holder is reversable. When you need the Ultra-wide view, pull the creative holder off the adapter ring, rotate it 180 degrees, and slide the first slot of your filter set over the Adapter ring.

You can then slide in a polariser and an ND grad in to the slot where you normally put your adapter ring. You can see a picture of it in this posting http://brentbat.wordpress.com/2009/06/03/filters-for-seascape-photography-part-2-of-3/

Hope this helps
Brent
